The wife and I are 1 month away from 29 years. Mom and Dad are nearing 53 years together. Mom remarried the day after my 5th birthday.

Enjoying the cooler weather, no A/C bill. Fired the furnace up to make sure it is ready. Set on 60 just to keep it from getting too chilled in here. Hasn't kicked on yet, but was close a couple of times when the outside dropped to mid 40's.

Maybe one more time mowing this year, then I will winterize the mower.

Still no word on our probate case. Wish they would hurry up.

This cooler weather has been wonderful. Glad it is finally here and it looks like it might be here to stay now.

Mowing? I don't get to do that anymore since I live in an apartment. Someday I'll get to do it again...

mowing? they do it here 4 days a week (ours 2 times, and the townhouses the other 2)...so I get to smell the allergy causing grass most of the week

dont have to worry about the heat coming on---it still gets to 80 in here later in the day

(remember 3rd floor), and we have to close the balcony door when the sun goes down or we have lots of little bugs everywhere (and they BITE!)...so you can be sitting on the couch at 11pm and the a/c will come on---turn on the weather to see what the temp is outside and then wonder how it can be in the 50's outside and 80 inside

let's see...if my parents were still alive...they would have been on anniversary 64....they had almost been married 20 years when I was born....

and yes, I think that the cooler weather is finally planning on staying for a while (the cold weather is not welcome for months though

They do it all the time at work. And about every Wednesday here at the apartments.

That is one of the worst parts during the summer about being on the top floor. It gets so hot in there. Definitely like the basement or lower flowers.

I think your parents would win there then cosy.

I like being on an upper floor just so peeps cant look in and its harder for others to get in as well (guess I lived in a few too many baaaad neighborhoods), but it has its downsides--like hot summers and very cold winters (though you would think with hot air rising that it would be warmer in the winter--but when your insulation is borked, that just isnt the case

)

and its raining...and just a wee bit too chill to have the balcony door open (not to mention they are probably going to start mowing soon--yes even in the rain).

We are on the main floor but then if you go to the back of the building we are on the "2nd" floor. So no one can see in on us but we are still on the main floor so it doesn't get as hot.

Had rain this morning but no more rain this afternoon.

Tomorrow is Friday. Thank goodness.

its the weekend again...and I hope to get my 2nd bedroom back in shape....since it was totally nuked when the workers were here....problem is I have to remove just about everything to put it back solidly (no bad jenga set up).

a wee bit too cool for me last night, but no a/c on and still not cold enough for heat= me happy with electric bill

Love the weekends. Crazy to think that October is almost over. Only 2 weeks left of it. Crazy.

I hope you get that second bedroom back in shape as well. Sounds like some, uh, fun.

It was cool last night. We are still trying to not turn the heat on to save on our electric bill as well. So far so good.

well, checked the furnace (its on and the filter is clean), finished the spare room (only took about 3 hours and 2 avalanches), and after a short nap...its still sunday!

It is nice outside here, though a bit on the cool side. Definitely was a bit cool on my run..

Now we are counting down to Christmas? Geez... Not ready for that countdown. Lets get to Thanksgiving first!

in other news: the duct cleaning and sealing seems to have helped the furnace a bit (yes had to turn it on...it was in the 50's in the bedroom--tad bit tooo cold even with extra blankees)...stays on for less time and I can almost feel the warm air to the window in the bedroom :s

Didn't snow here, just had some frost. Which wasn't too bad I guess. I do know some places did in fact get snow though.

We turned on the heat today as well. Was in the mid-50's so we broke down and turned it on. Oh well.

My poor desktop. Duuno what was up with it, but it is dead. First the network card ceased to work. Then it tried working again, but said the drivers were missing. I did a sys restore to a date prior to the card loss. In the middle of the restore, a message popped up and said, "Windows can not be installed on this computer." Uhh? What? Had to go to the other house to find my recovery disk. Took a little hunting, but found it.Since I have been using our nearly antique Inspiron, I had to hook the destop back up. When I did as the instructions said, "Turn on machine. Open dick drive, insert disk, close drive, and instructions will appear on screen.," the drive started spinning and next thing I knew, SHATTER, BANG, CRUNCH. When I finally got the disk drive open, bits and pieces of the disk AND the drive fell out........

Looks like the Toshiba, I loaned to one of my sons, is going to be coming back home. Hope Santa can bring me what I need to fix the Acer or tax refunds will have to fix it. Meanwhile, Dell Inspiron, hold on!!!

OUCH! that is bad (and as Melonni says I would like to change my opinion to this looks REALLY bad).....I have had disk drives fail in the past (still have one that refuses to give up the disk--and no have no idea what disk it even has

), but never chomp and disintegrate both the disk AND itself.

another week passes by...and its friday again.

had a nice massage again today, but still cant get to sleep---need a new mattress (again)....sigh, I remember when they made stuff to last years, now we are lucky if it lasts one year.
